Are sheets and towels provided?

Most rental owners do not offer linens. Beds will have mattress pads, pillows and bedspreads upon arrival. Tenants will need to pack sheets and towels for their stay. There are numerous businesses in the area that will provide linen rentals. Tenants place and order for the specific bedding needed and the linen provider will deliver these items to the home on check-in day. Please refer to your lease agreement for specific information regarding bed sizes and bed provisions.

Will the home come with beach tags?

In most cases, your rental will not come with beach tags.  Beach tags are required in Avalon and Stone Harbor from Memorial Day to Labor Day, during the hours of 9am-5pm.  Children under 12 years do not need a tag.  Beach tag proceeds help to keep our beaches clean and maintained.  A weekly tag can be purchased for under $20. Refer to the Boro website for more information. 

Where do we pick up keys?

On check-in day, tenants will pick up their rental packets from the Ferguson Dechert office in Avalon. Our office is located on the corner of 28th Street and Dune Drive. (2789 Dune Drive, Avalon NJ) Inside of your packet will be keys to the property or the access code for the electronic lock.  

What time is check-in/ check-out?

Most rentals begin at 2pm Saturday afternoon. However, there are homeowners that use a 3pm or 4pm check-in time as well.  Our office is not permitted to allow early check-ins.  Please refer to your lease agreement for the specific time. 

Keys should be returned to our office on check-out day prior to your check-out time.  In most cases, check-out is at 10am Saturday morning.

In the event that your rental begins on a Friday, please refer to your lease for details or contact your rental agent.

Can I get a late check-out/ early check-in?

Ferguson Dechert cannot accommodate early check-ins/ late check-outs.  Each home is privately owned and operated. The lease agreement specifies a time for your rental to begin and our office is held to that time for liability purposes. Thank you for understanding!

Do I have to pay for parking?

In Avalon, you will not pay for parking. However, on Dune Drive in the business district, there is a 2 hour parking limit.

In Stone Harbor, parking in the business district is paid through the ParkMobile app. You can download ParkMobile here. 

Are there public bathrooms at the beach?

Avalon and Stone Harbor have very few public restrooms.  Our community is predominently residential, which is what makes this town so special! You will find a public restroom at 30th and the beach in Avalon, 81st and the beach in Stone Harbor, 95th and the beach in Stone Harbor, and a port-a-potty in the parking lot of 123rd Street.

Where is the nearest pharmacy/supermarket/etc?

The closest pharmacy, CVS, is located in Cape May Courthouse on Courthouse Dennisville Road.  CVS is a 5 minute drive from Stone Harbor, 10 minutes from Avalon.  There are multiple supermarkets in this area that you can choose from.  Avalon has a market in town on Dune Drive.  If you're looking for a larger option, ACME has two locations: on Avalon Boulevard and Courthouse Dennisville Road.  Rio Grande offers more shopping options with Aldi, ShopRite, and Walmart.
